A payroll week, closed for good
Hours, overtime and tips, worked out from the time cards. Then:
- ReviewMisses show up Monday morning.
- FixThe manager corrects them in the POS.
- SignSomeone signs that the week is final.
- LockIt freezes. Your accountant gets one file.
The week, locked
Once a week is signed it stays exactly as it was. A late edit in the POS shows up as a flag, never as a silent change.
Locked. Signed Mon 9:14 AM
Price changes, checked first
Raise a category's prices or roll a menu out to every location. You see each change before it's made, approve it, and keep a way to undo it.
One staff list
New hires and changes flow from your POS into 7shifts, so the schedule and the time clock know the same people.
Your books, if you like
Connect QuickBooks Online and cash and food cost join the daily picture. It works without it, too.
Who it's for
For owners
Know where the money went before the P&L does.
For managers
Fix the misses Monday. Close the week by noon.
For accountants
One file per week, every version kept.
Why a fox, and a storehouse
A kura is a traditional Japanese storehouse, and the fox is its key-holding guardian. Kura Fox keeps the records safe and controls who gets the key.
In Japan, a kura is the thick-walled building where a village or a merchant family kept what had to survive fire, thieves and a bad winter. At Inari shrines, stone foxes stand guard over the rice stores, often with a key in their mouth.
Kura Fox is named for that pairing. It holds the records, locks each week once it's closed, and gives each person only the key their role needs.
Where things stand
Kura Fox is being built now, with its first restaurant. The fox is still fitting the locks.
If you run a restaurant, or keep the books for one, and want to hear when it opens, write to accounts@kurafox.com.
